Genotype's fields of activities lie within the area of molecular biological research and the development of innovative products for biotechnology.

Our major activities are within the areas of genome research, DNA analysis and diagnostics, gene synthesis, as well as dependable methods for the preparation of nucleic acids.

Since 1987 we have performed DNA analysis for industry and academia (cooperations). Our laboratory is a spin-off of the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ) in Heidelberg. We moved into our own laboratories in 1988.

In fact, we were the first European commercial enterprise specialising in DNA sequencing.

Genotype is a partner in many international genomic sequencing efforts. We are especially active in EU projects for genomic sequencing of different organisms.

In the last years we have annually increased our output and we have analysed and published many megabases of genomic DNA.
